Tom Blomqvist closed out his 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship campaign with a strong performance at Petit Le Mans, taking pole position and leading the early stages before bringing the No. 60 Acura ARX-06 home in fifth place at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.
Blomqvist set the tone in qualifying by capturing the Motul Pole Award and a new track record (his second pole of the season) before delivering a dominant opening stint in Saturday’s ten-hour finale. Leading 79 laps in total, he showcased the Acura’s pace and consistency before handing over the car in podium contention.
Midway through the race, a mechanical issue hampered the car’s performance, forcing Blomqvist to manage damage and fight to the finish. Despite the setback, he pushed hard in the closing stages, securing a top-five result to round off a competitive season that included victory at Watkins Glen and multiple podiums.
“It was a long day,” said Blomqvist. “We were unlucky with the issue midway through, which cost us the chance to fight for the win, but there were a lot of positives. The car was quick, and we showed what we’re capable of. It’s been a strong year overall, and I’m excited to come back even stronger next season.”
