Tom Blomqvist in Bahrain for WEC season finale

Tom Blomqvist is set for the WEC season finale this weekend as he reunites with United Autosports for the 8 Hours of Bahrain.

Lining up in the #23 Oreca 07 alongside Oliver Jarvis and Josh Pierson, Tom rejoins the team having missed the previous rounds in Monza and Fuji due to his IMSA and INDYCAR commitments and will be looking to end the year on a high as the season concludes in Bahrain this weekend.

Tom's previous trip to Bahrain in 2021 saw him collect a brace of LMP2 podium finishes in the doubleheader race event, with his United Autosports team also collecting a podium finish at last year's event as they finished as runners-up in LMP2.

The 5.412km, 15-turn Bahrain International Circuit is a demanding circuit on drivers, cars and particularly tyres - made even trickier by the changing conditions expected during Saturday’s race, which starts in the early afternoon and runs into the night.

On-track action starts on Thursday when free practice begins with two 90-minute sessions. A final one-hour practice on Friday morning is followed by qualifying, before the 8 Hours of Bahrain begins at 14:00 local time, 11:00 GMT, on Saturday 4 November.

“It's great to be back racing with United Autosports this weekend as we look to end the year on a high! Oliver and Josh have the opportunity to finish second in the championship so I will be giving my all to help them achieve this weekend and our goal is simply to win the race! A huge thank you to Zak and Richard, and all of the team, for having me on board this year - I hope to repay them with a strong result this weekend."
