Blomqvist looking to end season on a high

Tom Blomqvist will contest the final race of the 2019 WeatherTech SportsCar Championship this weekend as he heads to Road Atlanta for the ten-hour endurance race - Petit Le Mans.

The final race of the year will see Tom head to the iconic Petit Le Mans as he rejoins regular teammate Connor De Phillippi in the BMW Team RLL #25 BMW M8 GT, with Colton Herta drafted in on third driver duties.

Heading to the 2.54-mile circuit located in the hills of Georgia, Tom is looking to end his season on a high and hopes to collect his first podium finish of the season at the ten-hour race.

Tom currently sits 10th in the GTLM Driver Standings, despite missing the first round at Daytona, and his best results saw him finish in 4th place twice at Mid Ohio and at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

“Last race of the season and I can’t believe it is nearly over! I’m looking forward to this race because it’s a track I’ve tested at and I really like the flow of it. It’s also one of the longer races of the season which brings another element to the table. We know our car should be strong there so without a doubt we’re going with high expectations. We’re aiming to end the season the way the boys started it, with a win!”

Action gets underway tomorrow with the first practice session at 15:50 (BST). Qualifying for the GTLM takes place on Friday at 21:20, with Saturday’s race getting started at 17:05.
